Solar Systems for 7 health centers of Kandal Province
Tuesday, 06 September 2011 05:19

Thanks to a subsidy of the French NGO Electriciens Sans Frontières (ESF), seven health centers of Kandal province have been equipped by Comin Khmere with solar systems to power a solar pump, lighting and computers.

Most of Cambodian off-grid dispensaries are still underequipped or using inefficient equipments. The quality of medical care is often linked to the access to energy and clear water. These new solar systems will not only improve the conditions of these premises but also bring savings on the budget allocated to water and electricity, which are now both supplied for free.

Lots of these projects were carried out in the past but none of them was sustainable. The main reason is that the equipments failed because of wrong usage or insufficient care.

To avoid that, a 3-year maintenance contract has been signed by the health center head, ESF which subsidizes half of the maintenance cost, and Comin Khmere which will be in charge of the maintenance. The monthly savings allowed by these new solar systems are more than enough to cover the expenses of the health center for the maintenance.

The Racha Project
Tuesday, 06 September 2011 11:16

The Cambodia based NGO RACHA has developed a water large-scale Biotech Water Filtration System to produce affordable drinking water for communities which lack of access to clean water in Cambodia. So far, three purification plants were successfully implemented in two floating communs of Siem Reap and Battambang provinces, and one remote village of Pursat province. To meet the energy demand of the purification plants for mainly operating pumps, RACHA opted for solar photovoltaic systems or solar pumping system whenever it could fulfill the requirements. COMIN KHMERE has been given the responsibility to design, supply and install all the solar systems for the three sites.

Comin Khmere supports the Hub Challenge!
Tuesday, 03 May 2011 10:39
The Hub Challenge is a sponsoring program organized annually since 2006 to promote, support and co-finance a project (cultural, sports, humanitarian...) submitted by a team of employees of the French telecommunication operator Hub Telecom. The 2010 Hub Challenge goal was to install a 50m² grid-tie solar array in The Ecole d'Hôtellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule, Siem Reap town. Its implementation has been successfully completed early December. A team of Hub Telecom professionals came especially from France to install the large solar system.

As for ourselves, we were in charge of the supply of equipments (28 solar modules of 200Wp and one grid-tie inverter) and the supervision of the installation.

High scale solar installation for the Ministry Of Interior
Tuesday, 14 December 2010 15:16

Comin Khmere has completed the installation of solar systems in 34 off-grid commune offices located around the Tonle Sap Great Lake, including 13 floating villages! This project, financed by the Ministry of Interior, is aimed at powering lighting, computers and printers for communes' staff.

5 Comin Khmere teams were involved so that all the systems could be commissioned on time. A significant logistic work was thus necessary to transport the 204 solar panels, 134 batteries, 34 inverters and nearly 10 kilometers of cable on Cambodian dusty or muddy roads and Tonle Sap boats.

CK & Care Cambodia working together to supply off-grid areas
Wednesday, 08 July 2009 12:45
COMIN KHMERE has been entrusted by CARE CAMBODIA with the supply of solar photovoltaic systems in 4 very remote secondary schools of the Ratanakiri province (Borkeo, O’Chum, Virakchey and Andong Meas). The access to some locations was made even more difficult by the continuous monsoon rains but we struggled through the mud to install these equipments which purpose is to light up classrooms for evening classes or power a desktop computer. This project gives us the opportunity to spend time in remote provinces that have a high potential for renewable energies solutions.

The Wind Turbine Project in the SEZ of Sihanoukville
Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:35

Financed by the Europe Aid Budget, the Government of Flanders (Belgium), and the Autonomous Port of Sihanoukville (PAS), the Sihanoukville‘s Wind Turbine is designed to allow substantial savings in fuel, as it supposed to assist the shifts of 2 diesel generators.

CK has been asked to carry out electric work for the integration of this 250kW turbine to the grid of PAS. It was a huge construction site that required hundreds kilometres of wires for low and medium voltage - which implied here, excavation, formwork and reinforcement – transformers, switchgear, and the expert know-how of CK to complete this major task in less than 2 months! This international collaboration in Sihanoukville may be the beginning of some great partnership with others countries!

CK's great cooperation with an Ecolodge in Kep
Monday, 04 May 2009 09:01

Green lodges/resorts are modish in Cambodia! However, green ideas are not always feasible and alternatives have to be found to match customers’ investment willingness. Our “Sunny Island” stand alone batteries inverter enables these eco-resorts to spread their assets and get greener step by step. Starting with the battery-genset solution, the operator can, as soon as he gets incomes from his business, integrate solar panels or wind turbines in the power system, hence reducing the genset consumption. COMIN KHMERE has installed its first system for a new-built eco-lodge in Kep province.

CK help for the rural off-grid electrification with the GRET
Sunday, 03 May 2009 15:31

COMIN KHMERE won the tender to supply GRET funded solar equipment to the Kampong Speu Palm Sugar Association. The rural office is completely off grid with no generator. The system is large enough to support lights, a laptop and a printer.

The German Ambassy Solar Heater Project
Tuesday, 02 June 2009 13:27

As part of the German Embassy ambitious plan to significantly reduce its monthly electricity bills, COMIN KHMERE carried out the replacement of the existing electric heaters of the Ambassador’s house with a centralized solar water heating system. The high quality equipments used for this project are manufactured by a reputable German manufacturer whose environmentally friendly solutions are good alternatives to the low quality solar water heaters currently sold in Cambodia.

Eco Festival 2009
Monday, 22 June 2009 02:27

Clean Energy Group was proud to be a part of this year's Environment Week by participating in Eco Festival 2009. We had a chance to display some interesting equipment as well as explain to many people about renewable energy and our related projects.

Wednesday, 08 April 2009 13:48

Clean Energy Group has made partnerships to supply solar equipment for rural literacy classes in remote areas of Rattanakiri province in northeastern Cambodia. These areas are filled with minority language people groups living in villages barely touched by development initiatives.

Solar water pumping in Kampot province
Thursday, 19 February 2009 11:30

Clean Energy Group has achieved its first solar water pump installation at the bottom of the Bokor mountain in Kampot province. We were contracted for this project by Kong Pharith, the inventor of the solar bicycle, who is well known in Cambodia for his innovative ideas in the solar energy field. Hopefully the beginning of a successful partnership!

Our LORENTZ pump is powered by 18 panels of 120W and will draw about 30 cubic meters per day, which should satisfy all the needs of the future resort.

British Embassy LED project
Thursday, 29 January 2009 04:52
The British Embassy in Phnom Penh has taken many environmentally friendly steps in the last couple of years. One such project involved CEG replacing high consumption lighting and security lighting with LED lamps. In a city with high electricity costs, simple steps like this can substantially reduce monthly bills!
