Clean Energy Group has achieved its first solar water pump installation at the bottom of the Bokor mountain in Kampot province. We were contracted for this project by Kong Pharith, the inventor of the solar bicycle, who is well known in Cambodia for his innovative ideas in the solar energy field. Hopefully the beginning of a successful partnership!

Our LORENTZ pump is powered by 18 panels of 120W and will draw about 30 cubic meters per day, which should satisfy all the needs of the future resort.

The Cambodia based NGO RACHA has developed a water large-scale Biotech Water Filtration System to produce affordable drinking water for communities which lack of access to clean water in Cambodia. So far, three purification plants were successfully implemented in two floating communs of Siem Reap and Battambang provinces, and one remote village of Pursat province. To meet the energy demand of the purification plants for mainly operating pumps, RACHA opted for solar photovoltaic systems or solar pumping system whenever it could fulfill the requirements. COMIN KHMERE has been given the responsibility to design, supply and install all the solar systems for the three sites.

Solar Systems for 7 health centers of Kandal Province PDF Print E-mail

Thanks to a subsidy of the French NGO Electriciens Sans Frontières (ESF), seven health centers of Kandal province have been equipped by Comin Khmere with solar systems to power a solar pump, lighting and computers.

Most of Cambodian off-grid dispensaries are still underequipped or using inefficient equipments. The quality of medical care is often linked to the access to energy and clear water. These new solar systems will not only improve the conditions of these premises but also bring savings on the budget allocated to water and electricity, which are now both supplied for free.

Lots of these projects were carried out in the past but none of them was sustainable. The main reason is that the equipments failed because of wrong usage or insufficient care.

To avoid that, a 3-year maintenance contract has been signed by the health center head, ESF which subsidizes half of the maintenance cost, and Comin Khmere which will be in charge of the maintenance. The monthly savings allowed by these new solar systems are more than enough to cover the expenses of the health center for the maintenance.
